While the former is a fist and the latter, a bar of gold bouillon, one shape seems to be turning into something of a trend: barbells. Biotherm Homme’s Force came out this past spring, and this fall, Davidoff will be unveiling Champion: both fragrances’ bottles were inspired by barbells. Biotherm’s bottle keeps a fairly classical cylindrical shape, playing more off of the bottle’s visual and tactile contrasts. But the Champion bottle conceived by Alnoor has a more unusual shape: a black cylindrical body that is larger at either end, calling to mind barbell weight plate discs. This innovative trend is consistent with the ‘Sport’ theme that has been growing in the world of fragrance over the past two years.
